It
was in the winter of December 1998-23rd December to be precise
that Rotary Club of Karachi Sunset Millennium was born. As it
was the turn of the century it was decided to call it Millennium,
and Sunset was added as most of the charter members lived around
the famous boulevard. A group of 28 prominent men and women from
different walks of life formed this club which later grew by leaps
and bounds.
Sunset Millennium is the second club in the district
to have the unique honour and privilege of receiving charter direct
from the RI President Carlo Ravizza. 1999-2000.
The first major project of this club was to establish a Neonatal
Intensive Care Unit at Jinnah Hospital ( NICH) by providing incubators
which was inaugurated by the then Governor Sindh Air Marshal Abdul
Azim Daudpota. Funds were raised for this project through a grand
gala dinner"Mirage in the Oasis' conceived by Rtn.Zeenat
Bayat and her creative team. It was from this point that Sunset
Millennium came to be known as one of the "most happening"
clubs of Karachi.
